Urban Educator in the City!

Information about Education for Educators concerning Urban School Districts.

I have been teaching in an Urban District for 17 years. I learned most of my effective methods of teaching through trial and error- (My first year of teaching – I was baptized by fire!). Every strategy posted on blog has been teacher tested, teacher approved!

Looking for more information about me?  All of the degrees, certificates, honors and awards don’t mean a hill of beans if I am not effective in the classroom.

My students don’t care about all of those things….they just want an educator who cares….;-)

I’m trying to reach Tracey Smith if this is you, could you please follow up. I was introduced to you by Ako Kambon of Vision Leaders Institute and he wanted to follow up with regarding your organization. We met at the MGM casino in Detroit, Michigan. Thanks.

You are right when you say that degrees mean nothing if a teacher is ineffective in the classroom. Data is a vital tool for helping students take responsibility for their learning. You have some valuable information. Teachers need all the resources they can get; and collaboration is the key. I have posted some resources and websites on my blog; and I welcome your feedback.

I wanted to share with you a resource that might be helpful to all urban schools across the United States. I created a review website that allows teachers to create interactive games for their students. We have over 4000 K-12 games on http://www.bubbabrain.com. Play the demo game on the homepage to better understand how the software works. This is a FREE resource for teachers and students.
